What: Concerts in the Park
Where: Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield
When: 30th June and 1st July 2018
With the recent Beast from the East and Storm Emma bringing snow and freezing temperatures to the UK it’s nice to look forward to the longer, warmer days of Summer. And where better to celebrate those Summer days than in Sutton Coldfield’s famous park with the music of one of the country’s top Orchestras
This year’s Concerts in the Park event takes place over the weekend of 30th June / 1st July.
On the Saturday join the world-class City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) in the beautiful surroundings of Sutton Park for a programme that will be on a fiesta theme. Tickets for the first day are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for children (plus box office fee).
The Sunday will be a family friendly programme and community celebration for the people of Sutton Coldfield.
The programme includes a mini CBSO orchestra as well as a number of professional and local choirs and performers. Tickets on this second day are free thanks to support from Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust however those wishing to attend must still book tickets in advance.
Leader of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council Councillor Simon Ward said:
“We are delighted that tickets are now on sale via the Town Hall. Early interest has been strong and I urge people to buy tickets early.
“It is also fantastic that we are able to announce Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust’s support for Concerts in the Park which enables us to once again stage an outstanding community event on the Sunday for free.”
John Hemming, Grants Manager for Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust said:
“Two of the Trust’s objectives are the advancement of the arts and community development and few opportunities of this quality and impact arise. Following on from the successful 2017 concerts the Trust is pleased to be involved with the Free Family Fun day for a second year.”
