Mum and business owner, Clara Wilcox has earned herself a place in the final line-up of The Mpower National Business Awards, prestigious awards celebrating parents through the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.
Founder of The Balance Collective, mother of two from Sutton Coldfield, Clara is a straight talking, practical and experienced coach helping clients navigate the tricky waters of returning to work, career changes and professional development.
She has used her personal experience of working parent, and her background in recruitment and career coaching, to help parents secure family friendly opportunities and build business.
Now, after helping hundreds of parents through her blogs, workshops and one to one training, she has been shortlisted in the Social Impact Category.
As well as being shortlisted for this category, Clara is also in with a chance of winning the title of Mpower Woman of the Year 2018, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business and could walk away with a fantastic prize.
Having reached the finals of The Mpower National Business Awards Clara said:
“I am so honoured to be a finalist and to have the work of social businesses in the UK recognised. In my experience, so many parents want to work, but they are unsure of where to start with their job search. Being able to help parents along their way makes all the hard work of entrepreneurship worthwhile!
“There are a lot of awards out there, and we are proud about what makes these awards, and the women who enter, different! ” said Nicola Huelin, multi-award winning business coach, founder of the Mpower awards, and mum to four children with her partner Graham. “Often invisible to most, mums in business are changing the business landscape, while raising and inspiring the generations of the future. We believe their efforts and successes in overcoming the unique challenges of combining business and motherhood, particularly in those first few years when it’s the hardest, need to be recognised and celebrated.”
Juding Clara’s entry will be a panel of top parent entrepreneurs, but she’ll have to wait until the 23rd June, when the winners will be announced at The MPower Gala, being held at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in London.
The Mpower Gala has been called The Networking Party Of The Year and is open to all entrepreneurs and business owners for an evening of networking, inspiration and celebration. Tickets can be purchased through the Mpower website, where you’ll find a range of resources and information for mums in business: www.mpowerawards.com
