A Sutton Coldfield based community support organisation has benefited to the sum of £1,000 after a donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Rugeley.
Founded in 2011, Our Place plays a key role in helping people make positive changes in their lives through mentoring, personal development and support services. The community organisation based in Farthing Lane is led by a team of dedicated volunteer directors.
Speaking on the donation, Nathan Fetherston, General Manager at the Amazon Rugeley fulfilment centre, said:
“We are grateful for the important work that Our Place provides to people within our community. The charity plays such important role in ensuring everyone has a place to turn to for support and advice when they need it most, and we are delighted to lend a helping hand to our neighbours.”
Kelly Round, founder and CEO at Our Place commented:
“On behalf of the children and families who receive support from Our Place, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Amazon for their generosity. Our Place is home to many vital voluntary services within our community and it is donations such as this which ensure we can continue to help people as they face extremely difficult life-changes.”
The donation forms part of the ‘Amazon In The Community’ programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
