Acting on behalf of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Colliers International has been instructed to market for sale a two-acre development site in Sutton Coldfield.
Situated within the established community of Mere Green, two miles north of Sutton Coldfield town centre, the former TRW site fronts Mere Green Road and benefits from its position directly opposite a Sainsbury’s supermarket and close proximity to the successful Mulberry Walk retail scheme, which boasts occupiers including M&S, Boots and Green King.
Simon Norton, Director, Industrial & Logistics at Colliers International in Birmingham, said:
“Since 2010 the site has been undergoing extensive remediation works to ready the area for development. This work is now complete and we believe, due to its proximity to the established commuter area of Mere Green with its good quality housing and schools, as well as direct rail access to Birmingham city centre, the site would likely appeal to alternative uses such as additional residential accommodation or care facilities.”
Manfred Fink, Senior Manager at ZF Friedrichshafen, which acquired TRW in 2015, added:
“The procedure of clearing the site from historical contamination has been a long process but I am pleased to say that all of the necessary environmental assessments have been met and we are now ready to release the site back to the market. We hope to secure a buyer that will develop the site in a way that is sympathetic to its surroundings and further enhances the local community.”
The site, which is highlighted within the Mere Green Development Framework, is being sold by way of an informal tender process. All enquiries should be directed to Simon Norton at Colliers International on 0121 265 7513 or email@example.com.
