After opening their doors in 2011, Our Place Community Hub fast became an asset to Sutton Coldfield providing local organisations with a place to be based and the local community with a source of advice and support that had been lacking in the area for a long time.
During the last 7 years the organisation has grown significantly in response to demand from the community.
The Community Interest Company now has an average of 735 visits to the Hub every month, supports a further 45 individuals through mentoring, offers a range of group mentoring courses in schools and launched their professional development courses which are delivered across Birmingham.
As a result Directors at Our Place made the decision to change the company name for the 7th year anniversary to Our Place Support CIC so that the organisations name more closely reflected the wide range of support services they now offer.
Kelly Round; Founder of Our Place said:
“The name change is subtle but will be much more effective when promoting Our Place services that are delivered outside of the Community Hub such as our Mentoring and Training schemes. The Community Hub remains the core of Our Place, it’s at the heart of everything we offer, it’s home to our Advice Cafe and Job Club and do enables us to meet our initial aim of providing advice and support services to local people”
Whilst there won’t be any changes in the way the services are delivered, the Directors are confident that the new name will enable them to further develop areas of the organisation that allow them to generate income which in turn helps fund the advice and support services they deliver.
