The Court’s own gentle ‘giant killer’ Mark Ireland from Hodge Hill this week won the 2 wood County quarter final singles match at Stoke Coventry – and will be in the semi final at a date yet to be decided. He beat Roy Henry of Stoke 16:5.
Mark, together with the Court’s Allen Onion from Sutton Coldfield and Rob Robinson from Four Oaks will join Richard Brittan from Tamworth in the County Fours semi final – due to be played on 15th July at Welford Bowling Club.
In the County Senior Pairs, Allen Onion and Richard Brittan won 24:18 against Phil Birch and Keith Wooding from The Avenue Coventry. They now go through to that area semi final.
Not to be left out, the ladies of the Court’s Birmingham Bowls Association Ivy League ‘A’ team put in another good all round team performance.This saw Ann Mason,Linda Sullivan and Lorely Edwards of Walmley and Chris Reid of Pype Hayes, decisively beating West Midlands Police 35-7 – maintaining their top of league position.
